January 9 2026 Newsletter
Dear Neighbors,
Happy New Year! There is a lot happening in the District right now, and this year my team and I are continuing to focus on connecting with the community, listening to your concerns and feedback, and moving Ward 7 forward.
We are entering oversight season, so please be on the lookout for the hearing schedule. Resident testimony is a critical part of the oversight process and helps shape accountability and improvements across city services. All residents are encouraged to participate by sharing feedback on your experience and interactions with District agencies. I look forward to engaging in this process across my committees: Committee of the Whole, Business and Economic Development, Human Services, Public Works and Operations, Health, and the Judiciary and Public Safety.
Another focus of ours in this new year is the Fiscal Year 2027 budget. Your voices are the driving force behind the work we do every day, and I want to thank you for continuing to share your feedback, your ideas, and your passion for our community.
My budget proposals will be rooted in the voices of Ward 7 residents—through community listening sessions, conversations with business and industry leaders, and the dedicated input of local organizations. I invite all Ward 7 residents to fill out our budget survey and share your budget requests so that our office can advocate for the resources and programs that matter most to our community.
As we are entering the FY27 budget season, I want to ensure that Ward 7’s needs are front and center during the upcoming budgeting process.
Now is the time to make your voices heard and share your priorities for the upcoming District budget!
