February 6 2026 Newsletter
Dear Neighbors,
I appreciate everyone’s patience over these last two weeks as we’ve been working with our government partners to address the snow and ice accumulation across the Ward. DPW crews are still hard at work across the district, continuing street-clearing operations and addressing remaining icy areas.
To date, trash and recycling collection has resumed on the regular schedule for frontside collection, alley clearing is underway, and alley collection trash and recycling collection is also in progress. If your trash and recycling is not collected on your scheduled day, please leave your bins out, as missed collections will be prioritized the following day. If materials have not been collected within two days, residents should report the issue to 311.
Throughout the coming days, please continue to check the DPW website for updates. If you’re aware of streets that still need to be plowed, or sidewalks or other public areas that need treatment, please call 311 or reach out to our office.
We want to begin by thanking the District crews and agency partners for their hard work clearing snow and ice from our streets, sidewalks, walkways, and alleys during this recent weather event. Their efforts have made a meaningful difference across the city. That said, there is still a critical need right here in Ward 7.
Lastly, we are still calling on Ward 7 residents to step up as Snow Heroes and assist neighbors who need help clearing sidewalks and walkways near their homes. Even a small amount of time can have a life-changing impact for someone else.
Ward 7 thrives because we look out for one another. When we work together, we ensure that everyone is seen, supported, and cared for—especially our seniors.
If you are able to volunteer, please sign up using the link below to become a Ward 7 Volunteer. Your time, attention, and willingness to help are deeply appreciated.
