AUGUST 7, 2026 NEWSLETTER

Dear Ward 7 Neighbors,

We’ve been busy over recess! Over the last two weeks, I’ve gone on walking tours of our Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) across the city with my Subcommittee on Local Business Development staff to meet directly with the people who are helping our commercial corridors thrive.

From Georgetown and Friendship Heights to Capitol Hill and NoMa, these conversations with business owners, BID leaders, and community partners have offered valuable insight into what it takes to create clean, safe, and vibrant neighborhoods where businesses can grow and residents want to spend time.

These tours are about more than seeing what works—they’re about listening, learning, and identifying ideas that can help strengthen Ward 7’s commercial corridors.

Whether the conversation is about public safety, transportation, placemaking, or supporting small businesses, I’m focused on bringing back lessons that can inform smart policy, stronger partnerships, and future investments in our community.
