STATEMENT FROM COUNCILMEMBER FELDER ON APPOINTMENT AS CHAIRPERSON OF COUNCIL SUBCOMMITTEE ON LOCAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

“I’m excited for the opportunity to chair the Subcommittee on Local Business Development, which includes oversight of the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) and the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium Community Benefits Oversight Committee (RFK CBOC). Through this subcommittee, I look forward to diving deeper into some of the most pressing challenges that small businesses face across the district, and making sure they have access to capital, technical assistance, and contracting opportunities in a way that is transparent, efficient, and equitable.  

The inclusion of the RFK CBOC under this subcommittee further strengthens our responsibility to make sure that major development projects translate into meaningful community outcomes.
