OCTOBER 3, 2025 NEWSLETTER

Dear Neighbors,

You may be having questions about what the federal government shutdown means for DC residents.

While we may see some impact on District residents from the reduction in federal services, our local government and its operations will continue as normal.

Expect your trash to be picked up, mail to be delivered, and metro trains and buses to operate as scheduled. Libraries, recreation centers, and schools are open as usual, and parking and traffic rules will be enforced.

If you are a federal employee who has been furloughed, we have resources to support you during this time.

We know this can be confusing, and the situation is constantly evolving. We will continue to share updates about changes that impact the District.

Ward 7 residents, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our office with questions or concerns.
