JULY 11, 2025 NEWSLETTER
Dear Neighbors,
Over the past two weeks, the entire Council has come together for two in-depth budget work sessions to review the proposed FY26 budget line by line. These sessions are critical moments in the process—where every department’s funding, every program’s impact, and every dollar’s direction is scrutinized. I’ve been at the table every step of the way, asking tough questions, pushing for clarity, and making sure Ward 7’s needs are front and center in these conversations.
The first vote on the FY26 budget is scheduled for Monday, July 14th. This will be the Council’s initial vote to move the budget forward, and while there’s still work to be done, I want you to know that I am committed to fighting for what Ward 7 deserves. This is not just about numbers on a spreadsheet—it’s about making sure our residents have access to quality schools, safe streets, stable housing, and strong economic opportunities.
My priorities remain clear: I’m focused on investing in education, expanding economic development in Ward 7, strengthening public safety, and ensuring we have clean, well-maintained neighborhoods. Whether it’s advocating for funding for school repairs, supporting workforce development programs, or pushing for better trash collection and street maintenance, I’m making sure our voices are heard in this process.
As we head into this first vote, I’ll continue working to make sure this budget reflects the real needs and values of our community. Ward 7 has waited far too long for the investment and attention we deserve—and I won’t stop pushing until we see real progress. I look forward to sharing more updates with you as this process continues.
