LET’S BRING THE WASHINGTON COMMANDERS HOME TO WARD 7!
Dear Ward 7 Residents –
Washington, DC – and especially Ward 7 – are at a pivotal moment right now that has the potential of dramatically changing the trajectory of our local economy. The announcement that our NFL Championship team, the Washington Commanders, and the Mayor’s Office have struck a deal to redevelop the RFK Stadium Site marks an historic opportunity for our community.
This isn’t just about football. It’s about revitalizing Ward 7 with the economic anchor Ward 7 has long deserved. The proposed development – anchored by a new, roof-covered stadium built by the Commanders – has the potential to bring thousands of jobs, new housing, hotel accommodations, family-friendly recreation, and long-overdue neighborhood-serving amenities to our part of the city.
This is a once-in-a-generation moment. We cannot afford to let it pass us by. I am calling on my Council colleagues to join me in fully supporting this agreement and ensuring that Ward 7 finally receives the investment and opportunity it has long been promised.
